I am currently working as a visiting research student at DTU Construct on a project focused on the simulation and experimental validation of the micro-injection molding process for polymer components. The main goal is to evaluate and compare the accuracy of Autodesk Moldflow and Moldex3D by simulating the injection of parts manufactured with polypropylene (PP) and polyoxymethylene (POM). I analyze key performance indicators such as injection time, maximum injection pressure, part weight, and deformation due to mold shrinkage. These results are being validated through experimental metrology using coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and optical measurement systems. This work aims to assess the reliability of simulation tools and support the dimensional fidelity of micro-injection molded parts for high-precision applications.
